Educational Media’s “Global Endeavor” initiative among the nations and peoples of the world has grown. EMC has partnered with Bible translators, ethnomusicologists, ethnodoxologists, local church and worship leaders, audio and video producers and broadcasters throughout Africa and Asia through the years serving as media specialists alongside teams to advise, resource, and teach/train others to produce Scripture portions and stories on audio and video, worship music, and Christian broadcasts to touch the lives of hundreds of millions of non-readers with the gospel in their local languages.
From 2016 to present, we’ve worked with the American Bible Society’s “Trauma Healing Institute” to capture and produce the 13-part audio drama/discussion series “Healing the Wounds of Trauma”. The series, heard throughout Africa on broadcasts and personal devices, encourages scriptural engagement and counsel through this dramatic presentation written by the Bible Society for local performers in their own languages. “Healing the Wounds of Trauma” is performed and captured in African countries where atrocities from war, famine, internal strife, and suffering have left millions of people dead and caused acute trauma among survivors, many of whom have become refugees in other countries. Post-production of these audio programs is done in our studio in Spotsylvania, Virginia where extensive editing music is necessary and indigenous music, atmospherics and sound effects are added to enhance and complete each production. The completed programs are shared with local speakers of each language for review prior to distribution in the focus country and language.
For this series, we’ve worked in the languages spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya and Ethiopia. More are on the schedule.
God’s Kingdom is being built throughout the world. His Word and His worship are being captured and shared among those who can’t, don’t or won’t read or haven’t heard the gospel yet or those who suffer as a result of their effort to live the gospel in their own countries.
What God started in the 1980’s at EMC continues today, so that, as Revelation 7:9-10, says, “a great multitude from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages will stand before the throne and before the Lamb…crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”.
Thank you for your prayers!
